Apadmi Co-Founder Howard Simms talks enterprise with David Cameron’s Special Adviser, Daniel Korski

Apadmi Co-Founder Howard Simms joined a group of highly-regarded entrepreneurs and business owners to talk with David Cameron’s Special Adviser, Daniel Korski about all things enterprise in a recent meeting with Downtown Business in Manchester.

Of the points discussed technology and educational policy were the main themes on the agenda, where Howard was placed to offer some excellent insight into the enterprising initiatives of Apadmi and their aim to boost the programming skills of the next generation with their course App in a Day.

App in a Day is delivered as a workshop to pupils of secondary school age, enabling them to experience developing a fully functioning iPhone app over the course of a day. Provided with Apple hardware inclduing MacBook Pro’s, iPhones and Xcode, students work through the basics of programming and app development to offer insight into a future career in the programming realm.

Apadmi also offers the course as a CPD option to teachers, which enables them to gain a license to deliver the course themselves within their respective schools.

The course has enjoyed great success, having been rolled out into a number of North West schools and has begun to gain traction as a CPD workshop with Apadmi delivering their first one in November 2013 and another scheduled for March 20th 2014. Bookings are now being taken.
