Where it began
Beatstream co-founders Matthew Walsh and Helen Fish came straight to us in 2015 with their idea to create a live-music streaming platform. Initially, we provided mentoring and advice to the pair, changing their business model to one adapted for growth and tailored to investors.
We also suggested they bring someone on-board with strong sector expertise – which turned out to be Clint Boon of the 80s alternative-rock band Inspiral Carpets.
After various developments, they returned to us in 2016 where we became their strategic technology partner.
What we did
Matthew and Helen already had one poorly-made prototype via a third-party provider, so once the right solution for the business had been carefully planned, our technical team started from scratch with the technology.
We scrapped their work, re-building the mobile platform from the ground-up, and integrating it with a robust streaming solution via a third party specialist.
Since those early stages, we’ve continued to advise the Beatstream team at board level, offering support and putting them back on track for their launch date.
Where are they now?
Beatstream recently secured £225k worth of investment, and have had a run of exciting announcements such as media company Communicorp UK joining them as a partner, Clint Boon as a shareholder, and additional private investments coming on board.
The team also won the Best Start-Up award category at Venturefest Manchester; with several festivals already signed up for streaming, they have huge plans for the platform past their launch date in summer 2018. You can find out more about Beatstream over on their website.
