Short film with NHS Blood and Transplant showcases the life-saving impact of technology

Apadmi and NHS Blood and Transplant have been working together for over a decade to transform the organ donation process and give precious time back to specialist nurses . Now, this comes to life in a short film created in collaboration to highlight the life-saving power of technology.

In the world of organ transplantation, every second counts, which is why NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) recognised the need for a complete digital transformation of ways of working to simplify and speed up the process of evaluating organs and sharing crucial information among transplant professionals.

Thus began Apadmi and NHSBT's decade-long engagement which has involved over 40 project phases delivered together to completely transformation the organ donation service.

From DonorPath to TissuePath to our most recently released product, TransplantPath - Apadmi has helped NHSBT create new digital products that give critical time back to transplant specialists, whilst making patient date more secure.

By replacing existing legacy systems, the ongoing collaboration has achieved:

  • 61 days per year in manual processes saved, an average time saving of 29.5 minutes for every organ offer and equating to 302 more transplants per year

  • 50 minutes saved per kidney transplant

  • 132,000+ pieces of paper saved annually

  • 70% reduction in paperwork

  • 4000+ organ donations supported yearly, helping to save and improve 1000s of lives

  • Over 10 industry award wins and nominations for innovation and collaboration

We're continuing to work together to keep these critical digital products performing; every moment is critical, and down-time and disruption is not an option.

Don't just take this from us - we've put together this new short film in partnership with the NHSBT team to showcase just how powerful this technology really is, and how when done right - digital products can truly help to save lives.

Alongside Apadmi's UK Managing Director Matt Hunt, NHSBT Product Owner Helen Bullock and Specialist Organ Donation Nurse Jess Hough share the impact they have seen technology make not just in their day-to-day work, but in the lives of patients and their families.
