Not all Apadmi awards are created equal

We’ve been fortunate enough to win a number of awards with our clients over the last ten years, but we celebrated our big birthday year with a couple of extra special Apadmi awards last week.

The UK Business Tech Awards are national awards that  “reward innovative and exceptional application of technology to transform and grow businesses” so we were delighted to receive a nomination as Digital Agency Of The Year. 

And – a decade after we launched with just four founders – we were ecstatic to pick up the award last Tuesday in London.

This is a really big deal for all of the (gulp!) one hundred and sixteen people who now work at Apadmi, as it shows just how critical mobile technology is to businesses in 2019, and just how far we’ve come – a long way from when we started with a few simple apps.

The Effective Mobile Marketing Awards was also celebrating a ten year anniversary. The change in the industry since their first ceremony has been incredible, and some of the solutions awarded have made a massive difference to the organisation in the room, who included Volvo, ODEON Cinemas, Google, BBC Food and even the Home Office (their #KnifeFree campaign won twice).

Other winners on the night were AirBnb, deservedly chosen as ‘Disruptor Of The Decade’, and our friends at Domino’s who picked up ‘Brand Of The Decade’ for their ground-breaking mobile work. 

We’d been shortlisted for ‘Best Innovative Campaign’ for our world-first fan experience app with SailGP. 

Honestly – in such company – we didn’t think we’d win the award that recognises the most groundbreaking tech. But… we bloody did! Amazing!

SailGP set out to redefine sailing. Our app redefined mobile for a global audience. By capturing over 1,200 data points per race, integrating 8 live streams and creating a truly unique interface, we created a sporting experience that had never been seen before (and this is just the start of it).

“We were impressed, really loved this one. Spoiler mode is a great idea given the fact the races took place all over the world, and the app looks terrific.”

In ten years, it’s the most innovative app we’ve ever built, in an industry that is constantly pushing things forward. We couldn’t be happier that the judges agreed.

So that was 10 – our second decade has started well. We’re growing fast, with loads more people joining our team and some exciting office news (shhh). We’ve also got some amazing, brave new clients who – we’re thinking  – will be next year’s Apadmi awards winners.
