What you need to know

Keurslager is an institution in the Netherlands. The national network of almost 300 independent butchers celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2026 and is using mobile to unlock new digital touchpoints, strengthen customer loyalty and grow revenue across its stores.

A trusted household name built on craftsmanship, quality and strong local relationships, Keurslager’s legacy provided a powerful foundation and clear opportunity to evolve and engage a new generation of customers through digital channels.

The ambition was clear: drive both in-store and online sales, turn occasional shoppers into loyal customers, create a direct communication channel between local butchers and their communities, generate actionable customer data, and elevate the overall customer experience.

What we did

Apadmi designed and delivered a scalable loyalty ecosystem built for sustainable growth. The starting point was a mobile-first approach, with a focused MVP that delivered immediate value and established a solid technical foundation. In parallel, a clear product roadmap was created to align with commercial goals, ensuring the platform could evolve alongside customer expectations and future commerce ambitions.

The app forms the digital heart of the loyalty programme. Users can register and log in, giving them immediate access to a digital alternative to the physical loyalty card with real-time insight into their saved points. Of course, the physical card can still be used. Simultaneously should the customer so desire. To ensure secure loyalty processing, an integration with Intersolve was implemented.

The app also enhances the customer experience with a range of engagement features, including recipe inspiration, a store locator and integrations with the webshop.

Keurslager operates within a fragmented retail landscape, where independent entrepreneurs compete directly with large supermarket chains and increasingly digital-first players. To level the playing field, we introduced a unified mobile loyalty platform that brought structure, scale and strategic advantage to the network.
